Quite early, Elena Filonova realised teaching should be closely associated to her career as a concert pianist.
In Moscow, then in Paris, she always engaged in identifying young talent, helping them develop while sharing her experience and carefully guiding their progression since their early childhood.

In 2002, the film "Un, deux, trois… Musique" ("Music, Maestro!") commissioned by the TV Network Muzzik and directed by Muriel Beltramo for Zoom-Zoom Productions introduced young musical prodigies together with their professors. Elena Filonova is shown providing guidance to her young pupil Charlotte Coulaud, then 9 years old and talking about her vision of teaching music.
